On Wednesday, Sept. 29, some of Hollywood’s most prominent stars showed off their stunning looks and fashion sensibilities at the premiere party for the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures.
Actors, actresses and stars in attendance include “Euphoria’s” Sydney Sweeney, “The Batman’s” Robert Pattinson, the Brazilian model Adriana Lima and “Pitch Perfect” actress Rebel Wilson. Wilson, who declared that 2020 would be her “year of health,” looked especially radiant at the event. The Mirror reports that the 41-year-old Australian actress has lost nearly 5 stone (70 pounds) since she embarked on her weight loss journey.
Wilson showed off that transformation in a sparkly black, tightly fitting blazer dress, which highlighted the actress’ figure at the Academy-run event, celebrating the opening of a new museum in the middle of West Hollywood.
As its name suggests, the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures is run by the same organization that arranges the Oscars each year — and just as the Oscars aim to impress with its glitz and glam, the museum is a sight for sore eyes.
According to Vogue, the museum includes a 33,000-square-foot theater designed by the Italian architect Renzo Piano, an Art Deco-inspired exhibition space and a striking spherical exterior. The entire project, which the Academy claims is the “largest institution in the United States devoted to exploring the art and science of movies and moviemaking,” costs $482 million, according to the Los Angeles Times.
But, if you can believe it, perhaps even a multimillion-dollar museum can’t upstage Wilson and her undeniable transformation, which she has spoken openly about in the media.
At the end of 2019, Rebel Wilson made a promise to herself; she vowed to make 2020 her "year of health," and to reach her ideal weight of 75 kilograms (around 165 pounds). It would be a year for the Australian actress to prioritize her mental and physical health and commit to achieving her goals. In November 2020, the “Pitch Perfect” actress revealed she had reached her goal — with a whole month to spare! That's an impressive feat.
Wilson, who turned 41 in March, posted an Instagram Story in November 2020 to share the happy news with her followers. She included a photo of the weight displayed on her scales: 74.6 kilograms, or 165 pounds.
According to US Weekly, she wrote:
"Hit my goal with one month to spare. Even though it's not about a weight number, it's about being healthy, I needed a tangible measurement to have as a goal and that was 75kg's."
In another post the star shared in January, Wilson had a few encouraging words for others who might find themselves stumbling on their own health journeys.
"Even if you have to crawl towards your goals, keep going x it will be worth it," she wrote. "Try and give a little bit of effort each day. I know some days are frustrating as hell, you feel like giving up, you get annoyed at the lack of progress … but good things are coming your way."
Wilson, who is known for her no-nonsense, honest approach to life, continued by stating her goals in her post: "I'll be honest with you guys—with my 'Year of Health' mission, I'm trying to get to 75kg's and career-wise, (I) am trying to get one of my movies into production before the end of the year!"

The star spent the month of November at the VivaMayr health resort in Austria in a move to ensure she reached her goal. The high-end luxury medical resort and wellness center offers a weight-loss plan complete with a custom-tailored nutrition and fitness plan. The actor told People magazine at the time that she had chosen to go back to "boost my immune system and lose my last two kilos.
"I went back because 2021 is going to be an insanely busy year with project after project, so I wanted to come back to VivaMayr," Wilson said.
The resort helps clients reach their fitness goals by following the “Mayr Method,” based on the Mayr cure.
According to Today, followers of the method start with some "light fasting" and a monotonous diet to detox the body. Once the detoxification process is complete, the patients are encouraged to eliminate dairy products and eat foods with high alkaline content, like fish and vegetables.
Alongside the program, Wilson did lots of outdoor hikes and woke up early to fit her workouts. This combination of fitness and diet gave her the final push she needed to reach her goal.
In a touching Instagram post from September 2021 that has fans in awe over her health and wellness achievements, Wilson posed wearing a bright red one-piece swimsuit in front of an idyllic ocean backdrop.
“It’s never too late to improve yourself - to improve your health, your heart, your happiness, your harmony. For everyone out there just trying to be a lil bit better this week: go for it! Every bit counts. Every effort is worth it. You’re worth it,” the inspiring post reads.
